Hey Track riders! Did you know that there are new rules regarding the technical specifications for bikes that officials will be looking for during bike check starting on January 1, 2023! There will be exemptions based on three rider height categories:
- For riders < 180cm in height:
- Horizontal distance between vertical planes passing through the bottom bracket axle and extremity of fixed TT extension handlebar may be a maximum of 800mm
- Height difference between midpoint of forearm support and highest or lowest point of extension must be less than 100mm
- For riders between 180-190cm in height:
- Horizontal distance between vertical planes passing through the bottom bracket axle and extremity of fixed TT extension handlebar may be a maximum of 830mm
- Height difference between midpoint of forearm support and highest or lowest point of extension must be less than 120mm
- For riders > 190cm in height:
- Horizontal distance between vertical planes passing through the bottom bracket axle and extremity of fixed TT extension handlebar may be a maximum of 850mm
- Height difference between midpoint of forearm support and highest or lowest point of extension must be less than 140mm
The new regulations implemented by the UCI allow different measurements according to the riders height. For more information, please see sections 1.3.013 and 1.3.022-24 of Part I of the 01.01.2023 edition of the UCI Regulations. Next the these changes a few other adjustments haven been made.
