The membership sign-up for the upcoming 2023 season is now available on the Ontario Cycling website. “The OC Team is really looking forward to 2023, as we have been hard at work planning new and exciting events and projects for the upcoming season. Our membership is one of the areas we have focused our attention on, and 2023 will see the start of some of those changes as we work on elevating cycling to the next level in the province”, says Pam Julian, President & CEO.

Newly Designed ID Cards

A new option available to every OC member this upcoming season is the ability to purchase a personal member ID card when signing up for their 2023 Ontario Cycling membership. These newly designed hard plastic ID cards are available for all members who purchase an Associate Club Membership, Provincial Race License or Mini Membership for the price of $12 and will be mailed when the new membership is processed.  UCI ID Cards will also continue to be available for purchase.

Mini Membership

The OC Mini Membership is an excellent option for youth athletes who are 15 years of age and younger, who are just getting into cycling to learn the basic fundamental skills to thrive in the sport. After doing a trial run on the membership in 2022, we are now offically launching it to all our registered clubs, to recruit youth towards taking their first steps into the club’s recreational cycling and skill development programs, or through our HopOn program curriculum.

Riders who hone their craft may eventually decide to move onto a Provincial Race License where they can compete in both club-level and provincial-level competitive events where a time and result will be recorded.

Competitive Cycling

For riders who are looking to take the leap into competitive cycling or to get more involved in racing, the Provincial Race License is now available on CCN. The Provincial Race License allows riders in Ontario to participate in all OC sanctioned racing events in Ontario, including OCups, Provincials and Regional events across all disciplines.

There is a slight price increase in cost in order to accommodate an increase in our insurance program pricing. The OC insurance program is part of the Cycling Canada program and provides a best in class coverage including liability and sport accident coverage during all OC sanctioned activities and event. “We have worked hard to keep pricing at a reasonable rate for our Members. While there will be a minor cost increase in 2023, Ontario Cycling continues to be one of the most affordable cycling memberships in the country. A good example of this is our youth Provincial Race License which has increased in cost less than $10 over the last decade.” says Chris Baskys, Club Relations and Membership Manager.
