Two weekends ago, the Ontario Cup #1 Mountain Bike Series was hosted at the Mansfield Outdoor Centre, Mansfield, ON, and despite less-than-ideal weather conditions, the commitment and enthusiasm of all the supporters, partners, and organizers was outstanding.
The event saw riders from across Ontario competing in various categories, from beginner to elite. Despite the rain and cold temperatures, the athletes displayed impressive skill and determination. The success of the event would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the supporting club Collingwood Collective, the trail builders, and staff of Mansfield Outdoor Centre.
Ontario Cycling wishes to express its gratitude to Collingwood Collective & Mansfield Outdoor Centre, who worked tirelessly to maintain the trails and ensure they were in top condition for the event. We also wish to point out their efforts in creating an amazing course that challenged even the most experienced riders. The location provided a beautiful and scenic backdrop for the event, with a dedicated group of volunteers who gave so generously of their time and energy to ensure everything ran smoothly.
We also want to thank the OC sponsors and preferred vendors who came out and/or donated goods to help support the event: Sram, Clif Bar, Ontario by Bike, The Biking Lawyer, Hoj, BioSteel, Candian Sport Massage Therapists Association, and not to forget Muc-Off who stayed late through the bad weather and long after all the racing had concluded to make sure all riders who needed a bike wash received one!
Overall, the Mountain Bike Ontario Cup in Mansfield was a success, showcasing the best of the sport in Ontario and highlighting the amazing trails and landscapes the province has to offer. Ontario Cycling invites all riders, spectators, and enthusiasts to come out and join in on the excitement at the next Ontario Cup #2 at Hardwood Ski and Bike, Oro-Station, ON, which will take place the weekend of June 3-4th.
