The OC High Performance Committee is seeking 2 members to fill vacancies beginning in January 2025.
The Ontario Cycling High Performance Committee provides support to the High Performance Staff and specifically to the Sport Performance Director [or designate] to ensure a transparent and accountable process for athlete selection to programming and Team Ontario representation. The Committee may also be asked to provide direction in the development of high performance policies and input on high performance management plans/strategic direction. The Committee may also be involved in matters relating to athlete carding/funding and discipline.

Composition [5-7 members]
Chair – Assigned staff member
Three (3) Members appointed in even years – by CEO or designate
Three (3) Members appointed in odd years – by CEO or designate
Eligible Applicants
· OC members over the age of 18
· Canadian Sport Institute designated representatives
· Cycling Canada designated representatives
· Provincial Coaches (contract) [abstention from approvals involving direct project involvement]
Term and Committee Make-up
· Appointed members of the committee shall serve a three-year term and maximum of 3 consecutive terms.
· Appointments to fill a vacancy shall serve the balance of the relevant term.
· Appointments will prioritize balancing the committee based on identified gender, underrepresented populations, and sport representation
Applicant Profile
· Understanding of athlete development pathway and best practices (i.e. Long Term Athlete Development
· Knowledge of the Ontario/Canadian/international competition system
· Current on key athlete performances (domestic/international)
· Actively involved at cycling competitions in Ontario (athlete/coach/official/volunteer)
Committee Member Requirements
· Must sign an OC Non-Disclosure Agreement
· Must complete the NCCP Safe Sport Module
· Must declare any potential conflicts of interest ahead of meeting discussions and abstain from any decisions in which there is a potential for a conflict of interest
· Must act and make decisions with the best interests of the athlete in mind
· Must respect the voice of others
