OC Women’s Month Profile – Jenn Hare

A valued member of Railway City Cycling in St. Thomas, Jenn Hare is a small town accountant who found a love for cycling when she joined her husband on training rides.  Since starting her cycling journey, she has become the clubs Treasurer, leads the clubs women initiatives and has encouraged other women to ride their bikes.

1. How long have you been cycling?

This will be my 7th season.

2. What drew you to getting involved with Railway City Cycling?

As an accountant I am passionate about sharing my financial skills with the club. As a cyclist I love to help others get out on their bikes and this serve as a ride host on a weekly basis.

5. What’s your favorite part about volunteering and running these events for women?

I really enjoy helping other women find their passion for cycling. I also find women only rides super empowering to build confidence in riding and connection with other women riders.

4. What advice would you give to other women about getting involved?

You don’t need to be the fastest or furthest rider to get involved. We need riders of all abilities and skillsets to encourage more women to get out on their bikes.

5. What’s favourite type of ride?

Social rides are the best!
