Always In Motion

Welcome to Ontario Women’s Cycling Month

For the past 8 years, Ontario Cycling (OC) has been running either a women’s day or women’s week every season. The original concept stemmed from creating a Women’s Ride Day where clubs would open their rides to anyone as part of a tryout program, but quickly blossomed out to include webinars and events.

But this year, we decided to do something a bit different.  With International Women’s Day on March 8th, we decided to turn the entire month of March into a showcase feature on women in cycling.  We firmly believe that sport needs to invest in females, and what better way to show the incredible impact that women have in our cycling community.  Every day in March, we will be showcasing some of these fabulous females, sharing their stories and learning how they discovered cycling and what drives them to continue to participate and inspire others to get on the bike and join the community.

But we won’t just be sharing profiles!  We will be offering several activities for women throughout the month.  From discounted NCCP courses to free webinars and bike maintenance clinics, we are very proud to be able to offer a full month of sharing and activities for women in the cycling community.  We have included a calendar of events (and pre-registration links) below – please note that all sessions are free of charge.

Our goal with this project, is to show that cycling is for everyone – no matter your skill or goals – cycling is an incredible community, that has a place for all.  We feel strongly that by investing in women, we are investing in our future as a sport.

Make sure to check out our socials every day, as we will be sharing profiles on individuals and clubs, who have done an outstanding job in creating safe and inclusive cycling communities for women!  And make sure to continue to check out our events calendar, as we will be adding rides and activities to our calendar for the coming season!
