The BMX Rising Stars Program will provide athletes an opportunity for both talent identification and skill development. Athletes will work on race skill fundamentals and develop an understanding of basic race tactics. Camps will build upon each other to help prepare athletes for the next step along the pathway.
Program Details
Open to athletes 12-14 years of age
15 athletes maximum per term
The program will be split into 2 Terms:
Term 1 will consist of indoor training sessions at Joyride (February to April)
Term 2 will consist of outdoor training sessions at Pan Am Track in Etobicoke (May to August)
*Commitment to a full term is required.
Coaching Staff:
– Britney Hovencamp, Provincial Coach
– Jacob McLeod, Support Coach
Athlete Profile/Selection Considerations:
- 2024 Ontario Cycling Member
- Actively training and competing for past 2 years+
- Involved in regular on-going training under the direction of a coach
- Competing in organized racing opportunities throughout the season
- Previous participation in Ontario Cycling camps/programs
- Participation in 2023 Provincial BMX Championships in Stouffville
Program Fees:
Term 1 – $150
Term 2 – $250 TBC
