Project Heart is an Ontario-based not-for-profit and privateer cycling program driven by with a mission for community building and advocacy. Project Heart was created in 2024 through a journey from open-heart surgery to a return to elite-level cycling. Project Heart uses cycling as a vessel for education and empowerment for individuals navigating heart diagnoses, and to give back to the community through advocacy and lived experiences.
Project Heart truly understands the importance of heart health for athletes, reminding cyclists that each ride and race is a reminder that strength starts with awareness.
Highlights from the team thus far include a return to elite-level racing after open-heart surgery, launching Project Heart as a registered not-for-profit in Ontario, and supporting and leading community initiatives centered on athlete-focused heart health advocacy and education.
