Our 14th annual ‘Hell of the North was our best yet. The fall edition will for sure crank things up even more. Our goal is to continue to work as hard as we can to bring you an event where life long memories are made. Starting and ending at the Ballantrae Community Center, this epic spring classic has 90 kilometres of the most amazing dirt and off road sections that will make this truly one of the most challenging events around. It promises to test your late season fitness. As always the Hell of the North route will include rail trails, dirt roads and some of the area’s nicest climbs. Cyclocross and mountain bikes for this wave. There are sections you will have to dismount and run. Road bikes are not recommended, MTB shoes and pedals are!
Returning for it’s 10th year, we have an incredible, alternative route called the HECK. This ride is for EVERYONE. This is a road event for roadies on road bikes. The HECK is for anyone who wishes to be tested but doesn’t want to dismount or ride through a farmers field like the crazies that do the HELL. The HECK of the North is a 70 kilometer route that will still include many of the amazing “paved” roads used in the Hell of the North but there are no off-road sections, farmers fields, or the nasty trench. This means you can ride a regular road bike on this beauty. There is only one hard packed gravel section. The rest of the course is 99% asphalt. Please tell your friends and help get the word out. Many out there still think the HECK isn’t for them but in reality it is for EVERYONE, they just don’t know it yet.
