COACHES

NCCP COACHING COURSES

The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is the Coaching Association of Canada’s flagship program, and has been identified as a world leader in coach education. The NCCP gives coaches the confidence to succeed and is designed & delivered in partnership with the government of Canada, provincial/territorial governments, and national/provincial/territorial sport organizations.

Cycling has three NCCP coaching contexts, depending on the level of coaching; Let’s Ride! Community Initiation; Ready to Race! Introduction to Competition and Performance Cycling, Competition Development.

1. Context: Let’s Ride! Community Initiation

Let’s Ride! targets coaches who will primarily work with novice and pre-competitive cyclists at the community level, including participants in the Active Start, FUNdamentals and early Learn to Train stages of Athlete Development.
*These courses are administered by your Cycling Provincial Association

2. Context: Ready to Race! Introduction to Competition

Ready to Race! Introduction to Competition (R2R) is the context for coaches who will primarily work with new competitive cyclists at the community and club level.
