Ontario Cycling is happy to announce the four coaches heading to the 2025 Canada Summer Games! Keep scrolling to learn more about each of these individuals.
Jenny Trew (Head Coach – Road/Para-Road)
Jenny, a former competitor at the Canada Games, has over 10 years as a national and international level cycling coach. This includes coaching at World Championships and Commonwealth Games. This will be Jenny’s second Canada Games in a coaching role after being an apprentice coach at the 2013 Games in Sherbrooke, QC.
Jeff Schiller (Assistant Coach – Road/Para-Road)
Jeff Schiller is a dedicated husband and proud father of three. With a background in Honours Human Kinetics (HBK) and Bachelors of Education (BEd.), he brings over 15 years of coaching experience at the provincial, national, and international level.
As a long-time competitive cyclist and active Ontario Cycling Association (OCA) member for the past 25 years, Jeff combines firsthand athletic experience with a deep understanding of athlete development.
In addition to his work as a teacher and NCCP-certified coach, he is passionate about helping young, aspiring athletes unlock their full potential and achieve their goals both on and off the bike.
This will be Jeff’s first Canada Games.
Murray Solem (Mechanic/Coach – Road/Para-Road)
Murray has been involved with Team Ontario as a mechanic and Para-Cycling Coach since 2005 including supporting teams at national championships and leading training camps both locally and internationally. Murray has also worked with Cycling Canada attending numerous international level competitions. This will be Murray’s second Canada Games having been the mechanic for the 2017 Games in Winnipeg.
Rob Holmgren (Head Coach – MTB)
Rob has been coaching for 25+ years which includes roles at the provincial and national level. He has coached at numerous national championships, World Cups, and World Championship events. This will be Rob’s second Canada Games after coaching at the 2022 Canada Games in Niagara Region.
