Ontario Cycling is preparing for another exciting season of racing and participation events across the province, and we want your event to be part of it.
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open for organizers interested in hosting a sanctioned Ontario Cycling event in 2027.
To receive priority consideration for inclusion in the preliminary calendar, organizers are encouraged to submit their EOI by October 12, 2026. Applications will continue to be accepted after this date; however, with limited calendar availability, preferred event dates cannot be guaranteed.
The Ontario Cup Series (OCup includes Road, MTB, and Gravel disciplines as part of the 2027 EOI process).
Eligible Road OCup formats include:
- Circuit Races
- Criteriums
- Individual Time Trials
- Stage Races
- Combined Event Formats
Eligible Event Categories
Organizers may submit EOIs for:
- Ontario Cups (MTB, Road, Gravel, CX*)
- Regional Events
- Weekly Series
- Charity Rides
- Cycle for All / Gran Fondo Events
*Cyclocross (CX) applications for 2027 will open early next year 2027.

Event Calendar Prioritization
When assigning event dates and sanction levels, priority will generally be given in the following order:
- UCI Events
- National Events
- Provincial Championships
- Ontario Cups
- Regional Events
- Cycle for All / Gran Fondo Events
- Charity Events
Additional considerations may include event format, geographic distribution, and overall calendar balance to support a strong and sustainable provincial schedule.
Unless otherwise indicated on the application, organizers who are not approved for their requested sanction level will automatically be considered for the next available sanction category.
Organizer Requirements
Organizers hosting competitive events must hold an Ontario UCI Licence with the ORG designation.
To obtain the ORG designation, the licence holder must successfully complete the General Commissaire Course.

Submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee:
- Event approval or sanctioning
- A specific event date
- A specific sanction level
All applications are reviewed by Ontario Cycling staff and may require additional information before a final decision is made.
