Ontario Cycling will be hosting a ParaCycling Training Camp on September 17-18 (rain dates September 24-25) in Milton ON. The 2-day camp will consist of:
- Endurance training rides
- Technical skill session
- Bike mechanics learning
- Understanding your training plan & periodization (classroom)
- Nutrition for training & recovery (classroom)
- Mental Performance (classroom)
- Strength & Conditioning (Gym session – Canadian Sport Institute Ontario)
- Group meals
- Overnight hotel accommodations on Sat Sept 17th
Please complete the camp application. Applications are due Monday September 5th at 5pm. Selected athletes will be notified Friday Sept 9th. This camp will be fully funded by Ontario Cycling’s High Performance Program
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- Provide an intensive training and learning experience for HP paracyclists in Ontario
- Enhance technical skills in a low-stress and controlled environment
- Create an opportunity for cyclists to apply their skills under fatigue in endurance training sessions, with appropriate support and safety measures in place.
- Learn appropriate bike maintenance and troubleshooting
- Learn appropriate strength & conditioning, nutrition, and mental skills that will improve training and performance
- Engage ParaCyling coaches across the province to connect, collaborate, and work together
