The 50th edition of the Ottawa Bicycle Club’s Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour (RLCT) is scheduled for June 10 and 11, 2023. With up to 1500 cyclists, this two-day event is one of the largest such events in Canada. Cyclists start in either Ottawa or Perth and ride to Kingston on the Saturday, then return on the Sunday.
There are four routes with one-way lengths of 106km to 220km. The routes go through the scenic countryside of the Rideau Valley passing many picturesque lakes and historic towns. The Ottawa Bicycle Club provides luggage transfer to and from Kingston, facilities at official rest stops, mobile repair services, police supervision at major intersections, and other support on the supported routes – see the routes page.
RLCT 2023 – Postponed
After careful consideration, the RLCT organization committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour to July 29-30, 2023.
Given the ongoing air quality concerns, the health and safety of all riders, organizers and volunteers is our top priority.
It is with regret that the 50th anniversary event will not fall on the traditional RLCT weekend (the second weekend in June) but we are grateful, with the cooperation of Queen’s University, to be able to hold the event nonetheless!
Bib pick-ups scheduled for Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10 are cancelled until further notice.
We recognize that not everyone will be able to make this new date. Please be patient as we communicate next steps (including the process for cancelling and requesting a refund) in the coming days.
