2024 Ontario Cup Road Series Announcement

The Ontario Cup (OCup) road series has finally arrived and will kick into high gear on April 21st. For the 2024 OCup Road Series, Ontario Cycling is partnering with Performance Driven Events for four OCups and the Provincial Championships. Riders will again be back with the Henderson Road Classic, Lansdowne Road Classic, Harrisburg Road Classic and North Bay Road Classic for the 2024 season.

Registration is open for all OCup and Provincial Championships. Make sure to take advantage of the series registration package, which provides a discounted rate for all four OCups and is available until April 18th, 2024.

OCup #1 - Henderson

Henderson Classic Road Race to get back into the saddle. Just 25 minutes off highway 400/401, the race will feature a 12km loop of smooth country and rural roads with rolling hills. “This year’s series opener will be a fantastic course for new riders and beginners to get off Zwift and race outside. It is well balanced with reasonable lap distance and approximately 90 meters of elevation for each lap” said Greg Rawson, Owner of Performance Driven Events. The race will start from the newly built Henderson Memorial Park, just off Line 9, north/west of Bradford West Gwillimbury. A significant safety component that will be part of the Ontario Cup series will be the support of the South Simcoe Police, which will ensure riders are protected while on the racecourse.

OCup #2 - Lansdowne

The second racecourse of this season will be the Lansdowne Classic Road Race. The 14km lolly-pop-style course is located just 30 minutes east of Kingston, ON and features only 20m elevation with a 4km out and back section from the start/finish line at the Thousand Islands Elementary School. “Same as the first OCup, the Lansdowne Road Race is a great race for beginners and new riders who are interested in racing as this is by far the flattest road race of the year” Rawson continues. This road race will also be a perfect opportunity for all sprinters in the province to attend!

OCup #3 - Harrisburg

Third Road Race and the highly anticipated Harrisburg Classic Road Race makes a return to the OCup series line up.

A Belgian-style Kermesse, ideally situated in southwestern Ontario, the course is just over 15km in length with 114 meters of climbing per lap. The roads themselves will have you thinking you’re riding through the European countryside as you twist and turn through Brant County. Intersections will be controlled by the Hamilton Police Service.

OCup #4 - North Bay

Closing out the 2024 OCup Series with the home of the 2023 Provincial Championships we are headed back to North Bay.

The race will feature a neutral rollout to start, leaving from the East Ferris Municipality Office. Once riders make their way onto the course, they will compete on a 15 km circuit, featuring rolling hills with roughly 150 meters of elevation per lap. The finish is located on Champaign Rd, right beside the KRMP Wellness Studio. The Ontario Provincial Police will be on hand to ensure rider safety.
