OC Women’s Month Profile – Roxy Slotegraaf

Roxy Slotegraaf is one of Ontario Cycling’s fantastic provincial coaches who works within our Team Ontario and Rising Stars programs.  Her most recent project was managing the Ontario Cycling Endurance Camp in Arizona.   Roxy lives in Listowel with her husband and two kids.  Her background in cycling is a mix of gravity and endurance.  She is currently working towards her NCCP Competition Development certification.

1. How long have you been cycling? 

16 years consistently – 30 years on a bike!

2. What drew you to coaching? 

I really enjoy sharing knowledge and empowering athletes to learn and grow to be their best. 

3. What’s your favorite part about coaching? 

Asking athletes questions that guide focus and implement solutions. I also enjoy learning from the athletes!

4. What advice would you give to other women about getting into coaching? 

Get involved and learn different coaching styles. Find a mentor; as it’s really important to have someone that you can share ideas, knowledge and skills with. 

5. What’s your favourite ride snack? 

Peanut butter, Jam, Nutella wrap.
