The 2023 Mountain Bike season has officially ended, and it is time to provide a wrap up of our Ontario off-road season. Throughout our events, we witnessed determination & grit from our cyclists as they battled through the demanding courses and challenging weather conditions. Whether it was the steady rain and sandy base of Mansfield Outdoor Centre or the rock features on the course in Sudbury that danced back and forth across the Canadian shield, riders gave it their all. The camaraderie among competitors was noticeable, with riders sharing tips, cheering each other on, and creating friendships along the way. As we bid farewell to the 2023 season, riders can look forward to the 2024 preliminary Mountain Bike calendar with many of our riders’ favourite events returning for the upcoming season.
We would like to congratulate every rider who took part in the Ontario Cycling Mountain Bike events. Ontario Cycling is happy to share the Mountain Bike season-ending report, a resource for all parties to review the season’s accomplishments, challenges, and participant input.
Throughout year, participants had the chance to share their thoughts on their experiences at any Ontario Cycling sanctioned event by filling out the participant survey feedback form for each event they attended. Riders were given the ability to also offer input on the features they would like to see introduced to next year’s events, the registration procedure, and event costs.
We would like to express our gratitude to all the clubs, officials, and volunteers who made the events this past season possible. Without their hard work and passion, the 2023 OCup Mountain Bike Series and Provincial Championships would not have been possible. We are grateful for their commitment to making these events a success and for their invaluable contribution to the cycling community.
We genuinely hope that every cyclist who participated this year had a great experience, and we hope to see you again next season, ready to take on next year’s challenges!
