The Ontario 2023 Cyclo-Cross season has concluded, with athletes demonstrating grit and putting on an impressive display of skills throughout the series, impressing the many supporters cheering along the course. From the very first race in St. Catharine’s to the final thrilling moments in Peterborough, this season showcased the strength of the Ontario Cyclo-Cross community. Cyclists from around the province competed on challenging terrains, battling a variety of weather conditions from the mid 20s and sun of Cowbell to the frosty mornings in Barrie & Peterborough. The level of athleticism displayed was nothing short of amazing, riders maneuvered through tough courses with prowess and focus. This year’s Cyclo-Cross season was full of fierce competition across various categories with riders being pushed to their limits. We witnessed several impressive rising stars in the youth categories , making it abundantly clear that Cyclo-Cross is continuously evolving. As the season concludes, anticipation builds for what’s coming in next year’s series as these skilled cyclists continue to redefine what is possible in this exhilarating discipline of cycling.
We would like to congratulate every rider who took part in this season’s Ontario Cycling Cyclo-Cross events. Ontario Cycling is happy to share the Cyclo-Cross season-ending report, a resource for all parties to review the season’s accomplishments, difficulties encountered, and participant feedback.
For the entire year, participants had the chance to share their thoughts about their experiences at each Ontario Cycling sanctioned event they attended, by filling out the participant survey feedback form. Additionally, riders were also given the ability to provide input on the features they would like to see introduced at next year’s events, the registration procedure, and event costs.
We would like to express our gratitude to all the clubs, officials, and volunteers who made the events this past season possible. Without their hard work and passion, the 2023 OCup Cyclo-Cross Series and Provincial Championships would not have been possible. We are grateful for their commitment to making these events a success and for their invaluable contribution to the cycling community.
We genuinely hope that every cyclist who participated this year had a great experience, and we hope to see you again next season, ready to take on 2024’s challenges!
