Ontario Cycling Association’s Endurance Camp Concludes in Spain

The Ontario Cycling Association’s Endurance Camp concluded this past weekend in Girona, Span.

A total of 17 athletes and five coaches participated in the camp which extended the entire month of February [broken into two, 2-week blocks].  The primary focus was to help build early-season base miles and aerobic capacity.  Athletes were treated to the great cycling environment of Girona, taking part in long country-side rides with climbs putting the athletes above the cloud line.

The camp would not have been possible without the amazing staff of Rob Holmgren, Peter Glassford, Molly Hurford, Lisa Holmgren, and Avery Gervias. Staff worked day and night to ensure athletes stayed safe, healthy, and developed keys skills both on and off the bike. Parents should not hesitate to put their kids new cooking skills to action!

An incredible thank you must be extended to our mentor athletes who delivered workshops, rode with the camp, and provided inspiration for Ontario’s aspiring athletes. Peter Disera, Michael Woods, Gunnar Holmgren, Miriam Brouwer, Erin Attwell, and Devaney Collier . We can’t thank you enough for all your support.
