OC Women’s Spotlight – Caitlin Guarasci

How long have you been in cycling?

Casually with Women On Wheels since 2005 but racing since 2018.
 

How did you get into cycling?

Women On Wheels division on the Thunder Bay Cycling Club This group has been getting more girls and women on bikes for 14 years. I am now lucky enough to be the director of this division and we have grown to 135 females in our club.
 
 

What is your favorite discipline?

Road.
 

Who is your favorite cyclist?

Alison Jackson – she models the perfect balance of what I want in cycling; within the hard work and highest level of the sport it’s important to have fun and be silly.
 
 

What has been your favorite event in 2024?

La randonnée Jimmy Pelletier – exploring 600km of beautiful Québec by bike over 4 days, all for a great cause
 
 

What is something you want to see in the future of cycling?

I would love to see more women in racing! This has been a dream of mine and the driving motivation to creating a female road and gravel racing team.
