Message from the OCA BOD March 2015!

The Ontario Cycling Association Board of Directors would like to congratulate our staff on a successful move to our new home, at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre /Milton Velodrome! This wasn’t an easy move, but our staff did an incredible job of handling it and they are now settled into our new space. Don’t forget to update our contact info as it changed as part of the move.

This amazing facility has already hosted Canadian Track Championships and the Milton International Challenge as test events, for the upcoming Pan-Am and Para Pan-Am Games, in July. The Ontario Cycling Association has developed an exciting schedule of Track events at our new home, with our first three events (O-Cup #1, Youth Cup #1 and Youth Cup #2) drawing over 240 excited participants in February and March.

There has been a fantastic response amongst the local cycling community for folks looking to get on the track and get their Track Certifications (including several members of the OCA Board).  Steve Bauer and his staff at the Velodrome have been incredibly impressed by this community-wide enthusiasm and are working hard to accommodate all the interest as they break new ground in this incredible facility and work with all stakeholders to develop the best possible programs and operational systems.

For more information on track certification and schedules please see

(Note: you will need an account to register for track certification.)

This month we have the second Track O-Cup on the 27, 28th and Track Provincials will be in April.

Following the second Track O-Cup, we’ll soon be into the Ontario Cup Road Series with the first race on the schedule for April 3rd,the Good Friday Road Race,  O-Cup #1. It’s hard to imagine but the spring is almost here and the weather is getting warmer!

The first MTB O-Cup race is on the schedule for May 3rd, in what promises to be an exciting year of racing.

Be sure to check out the full racing schedule on the OCA’s website:

Our High performance training camps are underway, with an exclusive group of 12 athletes just returning from California, where they put in some serious preparation for the upcoming season. This month will see the return of our Carolina XC and Road endurance training camp, a BMX Warm Weather Camp, and the inaugural March Break Track Camp

Finally, the OCA Board of Directors would like to announce our new email address. As part of our strategy to be more accessible to our members, we have created a way for our members to connect with us directly. Please contact us at [email protected]
