SUMMARY:High Performance – Rising Stars MTB Training Camp – Oro-Station
DESCRIPTION:Ontario Cycling will be hosting a 2-day Rising Stars MTB Training Camp for aspiring athletes [ages 13 – 18] actively competing at the OCup and Canada Cup level. Athletes will work on technical skills using on-trail features\, jump progressions\, tactical race planning\, and sport nutrition education. \nDetails\n\nLocation: Hardwood Ski and Bike\nDates: May 13-14\, 2023\nCamp Size: Maximum 16 athletes\nCamp Cost: $75\nLead Coach: Roxy Slotegraaf\nProvincial Coach: Rob Holmgren\nSupport Coaches: TBC – see below\n\n\nCamp Details\n \nAthlete Application\nEligible athletes please apply here before Monday May 1st at 5pm: \n\nAthlete Application\n \nSupport Coach Application\nThis camp includes several opportunities for coach development and support through work with our Provincial coaches and sport science staff. \nAny MTB coaches interested in supporting this camp are asked to express their interest by emailing Amber Hutchinson – OC Technical lead \nProject Objectives\n\nTo increase the talent pool of MTB athletes coming into Team Ontario performance programming\nTo foster the development of key MTB race skills and tactics to improve individual performances\nTo provide a talent identification opportunity for provincial program coaches\n\nAthlete Profile\nAthletes must: \n\n13 – 18 years old in 2023\nPrevious race experience at OCup/Canada Cup\nAspirations to improve race performance and track towards Team Ontario\nPositive contributor and respectful of athletes\, coaches\, and support staff
