SUMMARY:Track - Youth Track Development Series Finale
DESCRIPTION:Ontario Cycling (OC) is proud to present the 2022-2023 Youth Track Development Series (YTDS) held at the Mattamy National Cycling Center located at 2015 Pan Am Boulevard in Milton\, Ontario. The YTDS\, sanctioned and governed by Ontario Cycling\, consists of 4 separate racing opportunities\, with different events at each one. The series is designed to optimize the development of our young athletes\, through providing fun\, non-traditional races. This allows the riders to focus on skills\, speed\, tactics\, and personal bests\, rather than competition and endurance. \n\nRegistration for all YTDS is open to riders 18 years of age and younger\, with a minimum age of 9.\nThe event is pre-registration only. Late entries will be reviewed on a case by case basis. If granted\, will have an additional fee of $50.00.\nOnly Provincial Race Licenses and UCI Race Licenses are permitted. Out-of-Province riders must have a UCI License. Licenses will not be sold on event day and must be purchased in advance.\nThere will be 2 types of registration:– Series Registration – includes YTDS #1\, #2\, #3\, Finale– Individual Registration – one of YTDS #1\, #2\, #3\, or Finale\nIn order to participate in the YTDS Finale\, for Ontario athletes only\, all riders must have participated in at least 1 Youth Track Development Event (either #1\, #2\, or #3).\nRegistration for each YTDS and Finale will close on the Tuesday at 12:00pm noon prior to the event date.\nRiders must participate in all races at each YTDS event. If a rider unnecessarily withdraws from one race\, they may not be allowed to continue racing for the remainder of the day. \n\n \n \nAll riders must be Youth Track Certified through the National Cycling Institute Milton (NCIM). \nAthletes who have raced at NCIM/FCV-sanctioned race nights should consult with their coach to determine the category that best suits their abilities. The onus will be on the athlete’s coach to make this determination. \nAny athlete that does not have a coach but has raced NCIM/FCV races should contact OC to determine their race category. \nAssessments of track competencies include: \n\nAbility to ride safely and confidently in a pack\nAbility to move up and down the track (ie. Above the blue line)\nExhibits spatial awareness (ie. Shoulder checks)\n\nYTDS are run using ability-based categories. The ability-based format allows athletes to self-seed from Categories A to E\, based on their ability and experience level\, not gender and age. The ability-based format is designed to provide meaningful competition for all riders and to help ensure appropriate participation numbers for quality racing. \nYTDS #1 features the 500m time trial\, which will be used to verify the categories of the riders. Adjustments may be made to rider placements after the first bunch race if there are any discrepancies. \n \n Registration\n \n \n Tech Guide

SUMMARY:Gravel - Paris to Ancaster | Canadian Championships Gravel - Ancaster
DESCRIPTION:For over a century the roads of northern Europe have been home to the toughest bicycle races in the world. The most famous of these\, Paris to Roubaix\, takes place each spring over brutal cobblestone roads that have been preserved in their historic condition for over 100 years. Inspired by this classic race\, the Paris to Ancaster has taken place since 1994 over the roughest farm lanes\, trails and gravel roads we can find. We welcome the largest field of riders assembled in Canada for the P2A and the first Canadian Gravel Championships. Join them on April 29/30 2023 to become part of the history of this unique race. \n\n\nREGISTER\n\n\nWEBSITE\n\n\n\nCANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS\n\n \nP2A News\nJANUARY 20\, 2023 P2A NEWS – ANOTHER START FILLED \nIt seems we have had to post a few times this week about how registration is going for P2A 2023. The reason is that it is going very well. We had our first Start fill yesterday – P2A Classic Start 2 and now another one is filled too. \nP2A CLASSIC START3 IS NOW FILLED! THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT \nBased on the current registration trends the next one to fill will be P2A BRÈVE Start 1. Want one of these coveted spots? Better register soon. \nThe registration trends have continued along at a nice steady pace. Please keep in mind that space is limited in some of the distances and some of the starts. We have no idea how long spaces will be available. \nThe first ever Canadian Gravel Championships are also showing lots of interest. We have racers attending from all over Canada and a goodly number coming from the US. It should be an epic event. \nRaise money for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation\nYou already know that Paris to Ancaster is Canada’s Spring Cycling Classic\, but did you know this event is also coined a Ride for Research? That’s because for the past eight years\, the organizers of Paris to Ancaster have partnered with St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation and invited race participants to ride and raise funds to support groundbreaking research at St. Joe’s. \nWe know\, the words groundbreaking research sound great\, but what do they really mean? \n\nIt means that the largest national study EVER into the leading cause of blindness for Canadians is underway at St. Joe’s.\nIt means that 54 new clinical trials are happening at the Hospital\nIt means that St. Joe’s is changing the way that urologic surgeries are performed with robotics\nIt means that every day\, more than 700 researchers and learners are striving to understand illness and disease so that we can discover new treatments and possibly even new cures for the diseases that affect so many.\n\nThe research being done at St. Joe’s changes lives. That’s why we’re inviting you to consider raising funds for St. Joe’s during your ride\, or simply choose to make a gift at the time of registration. Either way\, you’ll be helping the Hospital that helped so many of us over the past few years as we struggled with the impact and severity of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you will join us on this Ride for Research. \n\n\nDONATE
