SUMMARY:Mountain Bike - Coulson's Hill Race Series - Bradford\, ON
DESCRIPTION:A staple of the Ontario XC racing scene since the 1990s\, we offer skill-based categorization that delivers tight competition and varying race length. Our skills-based approach removes age and gender as barriers to great competition. Courses ranges from 2km to 4km per lap and the lap count is determined by the category you enter. Typical race duration is 40-60 minutes for most riders.  We create new courses every two weeks that differ tremendously in style and difficulty so whether you relish climbing\, flow trails\, or maximum speed there will undoubtedly by a few courses you love – and maybe some you hate! But it’s always fresh. No running the same course forever here! There is also a Mini-Me category that looks to minimize interaction between these youngest riders and the rest of the pack\, utilizes a course with lower cardiovascular and technical demands\, and produces a shorter race for kids under 13. Once they are ready\, however\, these young rippers are readily encouraged to step up to the Novice ranks.  Our courses are always clearly marked\, meticulously groomed\, and all technical obstacles are avoidable if your comfort or skill-level demand it.\n\nRegistration

SUMMARY:Gravel - Paris to Ancaster - Hamilton\, ON
DESCRIPTION:For over a century the roads of northern Europe have been home to the toughest bicycle races in the world. The most famous of these\, Paris to Roubaix\, takes place each spring over brutal cobblestone roads that have been preserved in their historic condition for over 100 years. Inspired by this classic race\, the Paris to Ancaster has taken place since 1994 over the roughest farm lanes\, trails and gravel roads we can find. We welcome the largest field of riders assembled in Canada for the Paris to Ancaster 2024. Join them on April 28 2024 to become part of the history of this unique race\, Canada’s Spring Cycling Classic. \n\nRegistration\n\n\nWebsite\n \nRaise money for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation\nYou already know that Paris to Ancaster is Canada’s Spring Cycling Classic\, but did you know this event is also coined a Ride for Research? That’s because for the past eight years\, the organizers of Paris to Ancaster have partnered with St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation and invited race participants to ride and raise funds to support groundbreaking research at St. Joe’s. \nWe know\, the words groundbreaking research sound great\, but what do they really mean? \n\nIt means that the largest national study EVER into the leading cause of blindness for Canadians is underway at St. Joe’s.\nIt means that 54 new clinical trials are happening at the Hospital\nIt means that St. Joe’s is changing the way that urologic surgeries are performed with robotics\nIt means that every day\, more than 700 researchers and learners are striving to understand illness and disease so that we can discover new treatments and possibly even new cures for the diseases that affect so many.\n\nThe research being done at St. Joe’s changes lives. That’s why we’re inviting you to consider raising funds for St. Joe’s during your ride\, or simply choose to make a gift at the time of registration. Either way\, you’ll be helping the Hospital that helped so many of us over the past few years as we struggled with the impact and severity of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you will join us on this Ride for Research. \n\nDonate

SUMMARY:Gravel - Almonte Paris-Roubaix - Ottawa\, ON REGISTRATION FULL
DESCRIPTION:Like its inspiration\, the 33rd Ottawa Valley Paris-Roubaix Cyclosportif mixes well paved roads with abominations. The route includes mud\, gravel\, sand\, rocks\, unmaintained roads\, woodlots and one switchback climb. The classic route is about 80 kilometres. A shorter 40 km is an option for riders and includes 3 woodlots. Note: Riders aged 11 to 16 (turning 11 to 16 in 2024) are eligible to ride only the 40 km route\, and must have an adult riding with them\, or be in a preorganized group with at least one adult. U19 riders (turning 17 or 18 in 2024) may ride the long course. \nThis is a cyclosportif ride\, not a race. The roads are open to other users. All traffic laws\, including stopping at stop signs and staying to the right\, apply to all riders at all times. Marshals may stop or delay riders for safety reasons. Any rider who disobeys their instructions will be immediately removed from the event. \nThere will be no motorized support\, partly because some of the roads are not passable for motor vehicles. We strongly recommend that riders choose cycling equipment for its robustness\, not its lightness. Any kind of bicycle may be used\, although gravel/cyclocross bikes with large section road tires (at least 28 mm wide) are generally the best choice. Fixed gear bicycles must be equipped with at least a front working brake as is required under the Highway Traffic Act. Tribars are not allowed – you can’t go all Ted King here. It is each rider’s personal responsibility to ensure that their bicycle is legal and safe for road use in Ontario. \nAll riders must carry a working pump and at least two spare inner tubes. Tubular tire users should have at least two spare tires or one tire and an aerosol patching inflator. A cell phone is an excellent item to carry for calling for help if necessary. \nHelmets are required at all times\, including during warm-up. \nFor the safety of other riders and to avoid congestion\, personal or team following vehicles are not permitted. Any riders or members of teams who violate this rule will be disqualified. \nThe only store along the route that might be open is at Clayton\, but it is very close to the finish. Some riders will take nearly 4 hours to complete the ride\, so riders must carry sufficient food and drink for their ride. Note: due to the rough route\, be sure that your water bottles and pumps are well affixed to you and/or your bike. \n \n \n Registration FULL\n \n \n Tech Guide\n \n \n \n Event Website
