SUMMARY:Road - Hell & Heck of the North
DESCRIPTION:HELL OF THE NORTH\nStarting and ending at the Ballantrae Community Center. The epic spring (fall) classic with 90 kilometers of the most amazing dirt and off road sections to make this truly one of the hardest events of the year! It promises to be a fantastic end to the 2022 outdoor racing season. As always\, the Hell of the North route will include rail trails\, dirt roads and some of the area’s nicest climbs. Cyclocross and mountain bikes for this wave. There are sections you will have to dismount. Road bikes are not recommended\, MTB shoes and pedals are! \nHECK OF THE NORTH \nWe also have an incredible\, alternative route called the HECK. This is for anyone who wishes to be tested but doesn’t want to dismount or ride through a farmers field. The HECK of the North is a 70 kilometer route that will still include many of the amazing roads used in the HOTN but there are no off-road sections\, farmers fields\, or the nasty trench. This means you can ride a regular road bike on this beauty. Both routes are sure to test you and both promise to be an amazing day out on the bike! \nEntry to either length of ride includes coffee and pastries plus a day you won’t soon forget! 300 rider limit. \n10:00am start for the HECK and 10:45am for the HELL \nEntry Fees:Adult registration : $75*Youth (U18) : $55*Online registration closes Wednesday October 19th at 23:59  there will be no day-of registration.*Entry fees do not include processing fees \nOpen to UCI Race License and Ontario Cycling Provincial Race License holders\, as well as Single-Event Permits being available. \nWebsite \nRegistration

SUMMARY:Cyclo-Cross - Provincial Championships - KWCX
DESCRIPTION:Register here\n \nCyclo-Cross – Provincial Championships\nKWCX is a cyclocross race held on private property\, Bingemans. The course contains a sand pit\, two short but tough gravel climbs\, off-camber descents and a mixture of surfaces through a campground. The corners between the technical sections are wide and allow racers to keep their speed up. There is a double sided pit with a pressure washer. Ninety percent of the course if viewable from the start/finish area and is a short walk\, making this race one of the most spectator friendly courses. \nCyclocross is a very inclusive discipline. We make sure to communicate to about mountain bikes being legal in most categories and we always try to offer one day permits to everyone to enter. Many of our volunteers are students\, from a wide variety of backgrounds and ethnicities. We take the time to make sure they feel essential and they understand what the event is about and that sport is meant to be fun and inclusive. \nAll the funds earned go toward the annual income for the Waterloo Cycling Club (WCC). The WCC donates sums of money every year to help support our local youth development team\, KW Cycling Academy\, and we also provide youth bursaries to assist young athletes with the costs of attending races out of province. \n \n Website\n \n \n Tech Guide\n \nLocation\nThe course is being adjusted slightly. We’ve never had a section of the course that offered two obvious but different line choices through a technical section. We’re hoping to accomplish that by altering the sand pit. \n \n \n Facebook\n \n \n Twitter\n \n \n Instagram

SUMMARY:Track - Youth Track Development Series #1
DESCRIPTION:Ontario Cycling (OC) is proud to present the 2022-2023 Youth Track Development Series (YTDS) held at the Mattamy National Cycling Center located at 2015 Pan Am Boulevard in Milton\, Ontario. The YTDS\, sanctioned and governed by Ontario Cycling\, consists of 4 separate racing opportunities\, with different events at each one. The series is designed to optimize the development of our young athletes\, through providing fun\, non-traditional races. This allows the riders to focus on skills\, speed\, tactics\, and personal bests\, rather than competition and endurance. \n\nRegistration for all YTDS is open to riders 18 years of age and younger\, with a minimum age of 9.\nThe event is pre-registration only. Late entries will be reviewed on a case by case basis. If granted\, will have an additional fee of $50.00.\nOnly Provincial Race Licenses and UCI Race Licenses are permitted. Out-of-Province riders must have a UCI License. Licenses will not be sold on event day and must be purchased in advance.\nThere will be 2 types of registration:– Series Registration – includes YTDS #1\, #2\, #3\, Finale– Individual Registration – one of YTDS #1\, #2\, #3\, or Finale\nIn order to participate in the YTDS Finale\, for Ontario athletes only\, all riders must have participated in at least 1 Youth Track Development Event (either #1\, #2\, or #3).\nRegistration for each YTDS and Finale will close on the Tuesday at 12:00pm noon prior to the event date.\nRiders must participate in all races at each YTDS event. If a rider unnecessarily withdraws from one race\, they may not be allowed to continue racing for the remainder of the day.\n\n \nAll riders must be Youth Track Certified through the National Cycling Institute Milton (NCIM). \nAthletes who have raced at NCIM/FCV-sanctioned race nights should consult with their coach to determine the category that best suits their abilities. The onus will be on the athlete’s coach to make this determination. \nAny athlete that does not have a coach but has raced NCIM/FCV races should contact OC to determine their race category. \nAssessments of track competencies include: \n\nAbility to ride safely and confidently in a pack\nAbility to move up and down the track (ie. Above the blue line)\nExhibits spatial awareness (ie. Shoulder checks)\n\nYTDS are run using ability-based categories. The ability-based format allows athletes to self-seed from Categories A to E\, based on their ability and experience level\, not gender and age. The ability-based format is designed to provide meaningful competition for all riders and to help ensure appropriate participation numbers for quality racing. \nYTDS #1 features the 500m time trial\, which will be used to verify the categories of the riders. Adjustments may be made to rider placements after the first bunch race if there are any discrepancies. \n \n TECH GUIDE\n \n \n REGISTRATION OPENS ON MONDAY (NOVEMBER 7th) – Ontario riders only
