SUMMARY:CX Provincial Championships - Hardwood
DESCRIPTION:Event Recap:\nOntario Cyclists Shine at 2026 Cyclo-cross Provincial Championships at Hardwood Cross   \nOntario Cycling’s 2026 Cyclo-cross Provincial Championships delivered an exciting finale to a marquee weekend of racing as the province’s top cyclo-cross athletes battled for provincial titles at Hardwood Ski and Bike in Oro-Medonte on November 1. The championships were held as part of the renowned Hardwood Cross event\, a UCI C2 race weekend that also hosted the Canadian Cyclo-cross Championships\, creating a unique double-header celebration of cyclo-cross in Canada. The event showcased a successful partnership between Cycling Canada\, Pulse Racing\, Hardwood Ski and Bike\, and Ontario Cycling\, bringing together athletes\, officials\, volunteers\, clubs\, and cycling fans from across the country for two days of championship competition.    \nSet on Hardwood’s iconic three-kilometre course\, riders faced a true cyclo-cross test featuring natural obstacles\, fast grass sections\, technical corners\, sand features\, and demanding run-ups. The spectator-friendly venue once again proved why it remains one of Canada’s premier cyclo-cross destinations\, delivering exciting racing throughout the day across youth\, junior\, elite\, masters\, and challenger categories.    \nElite Championships Crown Ontario’s Best   \nThe Elite Men’s race capped off the championship day with a thrilling battle among some of Canada’s strongest cyclo-cross athletes. Racing in a competitive UCI C2 field\, Tyler Clark of Caledon Hills Armada captured the overall victory in 57:45 while also securing the Ontario Elite Men’s Provincial Championship title. Ontario silver went to Evan Moore of Collingwood Collective\, while Grayson Franks earned the provincial bronze medal after a strong performance against the national-calibre field.    \nThe Elite Women’s race saw Elli Clark of Caledon Hills Armada ride to third overall and first among Ontario riders to claim the Ontario Provincial Championship jersey. Teammate Aislin Hallahan earned silver in the provincial standings\, while Kristen Taylor rounded out the championship podium. The women’s race featured competitors from several provinces\, highlighting the depth of talent assembled for the UCI C2 event.    \nJunior Riders Continue to Raise the Bar   \nOntario’s junior athletes demonstrated the strength of the province’s development system with impressive performances throughout the day.   \nIn the U19 Women’s Championship\, Alexa Haviland of Shredders Race Team captured the provincial title with a commanding ride\, finishing ahead of Claire MacKinnon and Anna Christensen.    \nThe U19 Men’s provincial championship was won by Asher Bensimon\, who finished as the highest-placed Ontario rider in a highly competitive field. Evan Tattle earned silver while Patrick Luckett secured bronze.    \nIn the U17 categories\, Hannah Lehmann claimed the provincial title in the women’s field\, while Levi Bensimon rode to gold in the men’s championship. Silver and bronze medals went to Noah Carter and Foster McLaughlin respectively\, capping off a strong showing by Ontario’s youth and junior programs.    \nFuture Champions Take Centre Stage   \nThe morning races highlighted the future of Ontario cycling as U13 and U15 athletes tackled the same challenging venue that hosted Canada’s best riders.   \nIn the U15 Boys competition\, Cole Butcher earned the provincial championship title after a dominant performance. The U15 Girls championship was won by Kinsley Biskaborn.    \nAmong the youngest competitors\, Maurice Lefebvre claimed the U13 Boys Ontario Championship\, while Clare Caners secured the U13 Girls provincial title. The enthusiastic participation and competitive racing in these categories underscores the continued growth of cyclo-cross development across Ontario.    \nMasters Categories Deliver Strong Competition   \nAs has become tradition in Ontario cyclo-cross\, the Masters divisions featured some of the deepest and most competitive racing of the day.   \nProvincial championships were awarded to:   \nMichael Miller – Master A Men (35-44)   \nJon Barnes – Master B Men (45-54)   \nChris White – Master C Men (55-64)   \nEric Jackson – Master D Men (65+)   \nMolly Hurford – Master A Women (35-44)   \nSue Haviland – Master B Women (45-54)   \nMaureen O’Hare – Master C Women (55-64)    \nThe Masters categories once again demonstrated the depth and passion that continue to make cyclo-cross one of Ontario Cycling’s most vibrant disciplines.   \nA Celebration of Cyclo-cross   \nBeyond the racing itself\, the championship weekend highlighted the collaborative effort required to deliver world-class cycling events in Ontario. Through the combined support of Cycling Canada\, Ontario Cycling\, Pulse Racing\, Hardwood Ski and Bike\, event officials\, volunteers\, clubs\, coaches\, and supporters\, athletes were provided with a professionally delivered championship experience on one of Canada’s most recognized cyclo-cross courses.    \nOntario Cycling extends its congratulations to all provincial champions\, medalists\, participants\, officials\, volunteers\, and organizers who contributed to the success of the 2026 Cyclo-cross Provincial Championships. With another memorable season nearing its conclusion\, the future of cyclo-cross in Ontario continues to look exceptionally bright.  \n  \nEvent Information: \nRegistration \nEvent Website \nPlease visit the Cycling Canada events calendar for the most up to date version of the event Technical Guide here: https://cyclingcanada.ca/event/2026-canadian-cyclo-cross-championships-hardwood-cross/. \nFor any event inquiries please email events@pulseracing.ca

SUMMARY:CX OCup #5 - Christie Cross
DESCRIPTION:Event Recap:\nChristie Cross Brings Cyclocross Action to the Heart of Toronto  \nThe 2026 Ontario Cup Cyclocross Series continued this past weekend with Ontario Cup #5 – Christie Cross at Toronto’s iconic Christie Pits Park. Riders from across Ontario converged on the challenging urban cyclocross venue for a full day of racing featuring youth\, masters\, category\, and single-speed competitions. Hosted by the Christie Cross organizing team and presented by The Biking Lawyer LLP\, the event showcased everything that makes cyclocross special: fast racing\, technical riding\, passionate spectators\, and a welcoming community atmosphere.   \nThe event would not have been possible without the support of our incredible sponsors and partners\, including The Biking Lawyer LLP\, Bateman’s Bicycle Company\, Cycle Toronto\, Burdock Brewery\, Pedal\, Sierra\, Shimano\, Alegro Cycles\, and Olway\, whose continued investment helps grow cyclocross and cycling communities across Ontario.   \nElite Racing Delivers Exciting Battles  \nThe day’s premier women’s race featured a thrilling contest between Clare Hauber (Shredders Race) and Hannah Lehmann (Collingwood Collective). After six hard-fought laps\, Hauber secured the victory in 45:40\, edging Lehmann by the slimmest of margins\, while Charlotte Caners (Shredders Race) completed the podium in third.   \nIn the Cat A men’s race\, Tyler Clark (Caledon Hills) claimed the win after nine laps of intense racing\, finishing in 58:18. Rhett Bates (The Armada Team) pushed Clark all the way to the line\, finishing just six seconds behind\, while Farland Lamont rounded out the podium.   \nStrong Performances Across the Categories  \nThe Cat B men’s field produced one of the deepest competitions of the day\, with Jeff Faulds (Wild Rock) taking top honours ahead of Drew Bryant and Hudson Davis.   \nOn the women’s side\, Elise Huet (Peterborough Cycling) delivered a commanding ride to win Cat B Women\, followed by Maxine Oleka (GCC – Royal City Racing) and Dana Gilligan.   \nMasters racing remained fiercely competitive throughout the day. Franny Jewett (Uxbridge Cycling Club) captured the Master Women 35+ title\, while Maureen O’Hare topped the Master Women 55+ category. In the men’s masters events\, Robert Orange (Ride With Rendall) won Master Men 55+\, and [first name not provided] Vanderlinden (Faction Racing – Audi KW) took victory in Master Men 35+.   \nYouth Riders Continue to Shine  \nOntario’s next generation of cyclocross talent was on full display throughout the morning races.  \n\nCole Butcher (Peterborough Cycling) won the U17 Boys category\, while Marlowe Cureton (Shredders Race) claimed the U17 Girls victory.  \n\n\nEmmett Guerin (Peterborough Cycling) took the U15 Boys win\, with Jolene Goodyear (Ride With Ryan) topping the U15 Girls field.  \n\n\nIn the U13 races\, Isaac Aston (Attack Racing) earned the boys’ victory and Clare Caners (Shredders Race) won the girls’ category.  \n\nThese young athletes continue to demonstrate the strength and growth of Ontario’s cyclocross development pathway.   \nMore Than Racing  \nBeyond the Ontario Cup competition\, the day included a variety of participation opportunities including youth Try-A-Races\, a Bike Share Toronto Cyclocross Race\, and the Try-A-Cross event\, helping introduce new riders to the sport and reinforcing cyclocross’ reputation as one of cycling’s most accessible disciplines.   \nA special thank you goes out to the organizing committee\, volunteers\, officials\, medical staff from Odyssey Medical\, timing crew from Racetiming.ca\, and everyone who helped deliver another successful Ontario Cup event in the heart of Toronto.  \n  \nEvent Information: \nRegistration \nTech Guide \nFor any event inquiries please email connorwgregory@gmail.com \n*Christie Cross is using their own insurance for the event.  Ontario Cycling event insurance will not be in effect to cover the cycling activities taking place.  Ontario Cycling members maintain coverage through their membership when participating in sanctioned events.

SUMMARY:CX OCup #3 - Dam Cross
DESCRIPTION:Event Recap:\nMud\, Momentum\, and Big Performances at Dam Cross – CX OCup #3 \nThis past Sunday\, riders from across Ontario descended on Pittock Park Conservation Area in Woodstock for Dam Cross\, the third round of the 2026 Cyclocross Ontario Cup Series. Hosted by members of the Waterloo Cycling Club\, the event delivered everything cyclocross racers dream of and sometimes fear. The day began dry under thick cloud cover for the early waves\, but by midday the rain arrived\, transforming the course into a slick\, muddy battleground that tested skill\, patience\, and determination. \nWave 1 kicked off with fast racing on firm ground. In Cat C\, Michael Eves took a razor‑thin victory\, edging out Peter Vanleeuwen by just one second\, with Tom Martin rounding out the podium. The Master Men 55+ field saw another tight finish with Lorenz Calcagno edging out James Sciberas to the win by four seconds\, followed by another sprint finish – Paul Bradbury beating Marc Joanisse to the line and finishing with the same time. \nAs the rain began to arrive\, youth racers in Wave 2 embraced the mud with impressive grit. Cole Butcher and Foster McLaughlin delivered a strong one‑two finish for Peterborough Cycling Club in U17 Boys\, while Nicole Haviland took a confident win in U17 Girls. The younger categories continued to shine with standout victories from Emmett Guerin (U15 Boys)\, Vienna Biskaborn (U15 Girls)\, Isaac Aston (U13 Boys)\, and Clare Caners (U13 Girls). Their performances highlighted the depth of emerging talent in Ontario’s cyclocross community. \nBy Wave 3\, the course had fully transformed into classic CX conditions—muddy\, technical\, and demanding. Ryan De Groote mastered the terrain to take the Cat B win\, followed by Neals Van Wely and Andrew Edmunds. In Master Men 35+\, Jacob McClelland claimed the top step with a steady\, controlled ride ahead of Chris Pollett and Andrew Lambert to round out the podium. \nThe women took center stage in Wave 4\, where the mud added an extra layer of challenge. Alexa Haviland delivered a decisive victory in Cat A Women\, finishing ahead of Sue Haviland and Sarah Baert. Emily Samuelson took the win in Cat B Women\, while Heather Lylyk topped the Master Women 35+ category and Maureen O’Hare brought it home to secure the win in Master Women 55+. \nThe day wrapped with a high‑intensity Cat A showdown in Wave 5\, where riders battled through seven grueling laps. Parker Bloom powered to the overall win\, followed by Asher Bensimon and Nicholas Diniz. The Single Speed category added extra excitement\, with Ryan De Groote doubling up to take the win ahead of Andrew Lambert and Tommy Feng. \nFrom dry corners to muddy ruts\, Dam Cross delivered a full spectrum of cyclocross challenges and riders rose to meet every one of them. A huge thank you to the Waterloo Cycling Club\, volunteers\, officials\, and every racer who braved the changing conditions to make Round 3 a memorable stop in the 2026 CX OCup Series. With two rounds still to come\, the momentum is building\, and the racing is only getting better. \n\n\n\n  \n  \nEvent Information: \nRegistration \nTech Guide (V1 October 5) \n\nFor any event inquires please email mark.weymouth@waterloocyclingclub.ca
