DESCRIPTION:Instructor: \nFred Zottl \nThe Course:\n \nThe skills and tactics course provides both “in-classroom” & “on-bike” learning opportunity to coaches working with newly competitive cyclists at the club level. These athletes are likely to be in the ‘Learn to Train’ or ‘Train to Train’ stages of ‘Long-Term Athlete Development.’ \nThis workshop focuses on teaching mountain bike cycling skills and knowledge to identify and correct errors in skills performance. Coaches will also understand how to analyze stages in the performance of mountain bike cycling skills and can explain activities and provide feedback\, in a way that is consistent with the guidelines set for the age group within the cycling LTAD model. Lastly\, coaches will learn how to prepare athletes for competition by assisting them to follow pre-race and post-race plans including preparation of equipment\, nutrition\, and tactical and mental preparation. \nOC Refund Policy: \nIf the course is cancelled by Ontario Cycling a 100% refund including CCN fees will be issued. \nIf a participant withdraws from the course more than 14 days before\, they are eligible for a full refund minus CCN fees. \nIf withdrawing between 7 and 14 days before a course\, they are eligible for a 50% refund minus CCN fees. \nThere will be no refunds if participants need to withdraw within 7 days of the course taking place. \n\nLocation: Durham Forest Main Lot\n \nPrice: \n$120.00 + HST \n\nRegistration

DESCRIPTION:Cycling Canada (CC) is seeking interest from coaches to participate in a NCCP Competition Development workshop\, scheduled to take place online in English and French. The course will be presented in English by Dan Proulx\, ChPC (Head Coach) and in French by Luc Arseneau\, ChPC and Yannick Bédard ChPC. As outlined in the memo on July 31\, the Competition Development program is changing\, and we will be pilot this beginning in January. \nCandidates must receive the recommendation of their Provincial or Territorial Association (P/TSO’s). The P/TSO’s are encouraged to prioritize coaches that are identified for the 2025 Canada Summer Games and that have taken some Multi-Sport Competition Development modules. The Multi-Sport modules are generally offered online by your Provincial Coaching Association.  \nRegistration:  \nEligible candidates must complete the application form (English or French) and make payment no later than January 8\, 2024. Candidates will receive confirmation as registration is received. \nSkills and Tactics Theory and Training to Race courses will be delivered every month in both English and French (minimum 5 participants required). If coaches are currently registered within the LMS they will receive a notification when any new course is added and can then register. \nContent Specific Training for Learning Facilitators\nAs we want to continue to build coaching capacity across the country\, Cycling Canada will be organizing a Content Specific Learning Facilitator Training on November 28 and 29 over Zoom lead by Paul Jurbala Master Coach Developer. Coach candidates must be a Community Trained or Comp-Intro Certified to take the training. Coaches will also have to take Make Ethical Decision (MED) and Learning Facilitator Core Training prior to attending. DESCRIPTION:The Hardwood SingleTrack Classic is a new and “secret” 21km loop each year\, using the famously popular trails in and around Hardwood Ski and Bike. The Course is approx 95% SingleTrack (thus the name!). \nThe “secret” is that we completely mix up all the trails\, changing direction\, order\, features\, using many trails open for this event only\, and anything else to make sure this is a unique riding and racing experience.
