SUMMARY:CX OCup #5 - Christie Cross
DESCRIPTION:Event Recap:\nChristie Cross Brings Cyclocross Action to the Heart of Toronto  \nThe 2026 Ontario Cup Cyclocross Series continued this past weekend with Ontario Cup #5 – Christie Cross at Toronto’s iconic Christie Pits Park. Riders from across Ontario converged on the challenging urban cyclocross venue for a full day of racing featuring youth\, masters\, category\, and single-speed competitions. Hosted by the Christie Cross organizing team and presented by The Biking Lawyer LLP\, the event showcased everything that makes cyclocross special: fast racing\, technical riding\, passionate spectators\, and a welcoming community atmosphere.   \nThe event would not have been possible without the support of our incredible sponsors and partners\, including The Biking Lawyer LLP\, Bateman’s Bicycle Company\, Cycle Toronto\, Burdock Brewery\, Pedal\, Sierra\, Shimano\, Alegro Cycles\, and Olway\, whose continued investment helps grow cyclocross and cycling communities across Ontario.   \nElite Racing Delivers Exciting Battles  \nThe day’s premier women’s race featured a thrilling contest between Clare Hauber (Shredders Race) and Hannah Lehmann (Collingwood Collective). After six hard-fought laps\, Hauber secured the victory in 45:40\, edging Lehmann by the slimmest of margins\, while Charlotte Caners (Shredders Race) completed the podium in third.   \nIn the Cat A men’s race\, Tyler Clark (Caledon Hills) claimed the win after nine laps of intense racing\, finishing in 58:18. Rhett Bates (The Armada Team) pushed Clark all the way to the line\, finishing just six seconds behind\, while Farland Lamont rounded out the podium.   \nStrong Performances Across the Categories  \nThe Cat B men’s field produced one of the deepest competitions of the day\, with Jeff Faulds (Wild Rock) taking top honours ahead of Drew Bryant and Hudson Davis.   \nOn the women’s side\, Elise Huet (Peterborough Cycling) delivered a commanding ride to win Cat B Women\, followed by Maxine Oleka (GCC – Royal City Racing) and Dana Gilligan.   \nMasters racing remained fiercely competitive throughout the day. Franny Jewett (Uxbridge Cycling Club) captured the Master Women 35+ title\, while Maureen O’Hare topped the Master Women 55+ category. In the men’s masters events\, Robert Orange (Ride With Rendall) won Master Men 55+\, and [first name not provided] Vanderlinden (Faction Racing – Audi KW) took victory in Master Men 35+.   \nYouth Riders Continue to Shine  \nOntario’s next generation of cyclocross talent was on full display throughout the morning races.  \n\nCole Butcher (Peterborough Cycling) won the U17 Boys category\, while Marlowe Cureton (Shredders Race) claimed the U17 Girls victory.  \n\n\nEmmett Guerin (Peterborough Cycling) took the U15 Boys win\, with Jolene Goodyear (Ride With Ryan) topping the U15 Girls field.  \n\n\nIn the U13 races\, Isaac Aston (Attack Racing) earned the boys’ victory and Clare Caners (Shredders Race) won the girls’ category.  \n\nThese young athletes continue to demonstrate the strength and growth of Ontario’s cyclocross development pathway.   \nMore Than Racing  \nBeyond the Ontario Cup competition\, the day included a variety of participation opportunities including youth Try-A-Races\, a Bike Share Toronto Cyclocross Race\, and the Try-A-Cross event\, helping introduce new riders to the sport and reinforcing cyclocross’ reputation as one of cycling’s most accessible disciplines.   \nA special thank you goes out to the organizing committee\, volunteers\, officials\, medical staff from Odyssey Medical\, timing crew from Racetiming.ca\, and everyone who helped deliver another successful Ontario Cup event in the heart of Toronto.  \n  \nEvent Information: \nRegistration \nTech Guide \nFor any event inquiries please email connorwgregory@gmail.com \n*Christie Cross is using their own insurance for the event.  Ontario Cycling event insurance will not be in effect to cover the cycling activities taking place.  Ontario Cycling members maintain coverage through their membership when participating in sanctioned events.
