SUMMARY:SafeR Spaces Resources Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Date: June 08\, 2026 \nTime: 12:00 – 1:15pm \nAre you looking to make your cycling club a safer\, more welcoming and inclusive environment? \nOntario Cycling is excited to announce an important Lunch and Learn webinar for affiliated clubs with special guest and SafeR Spaces resources developer Sarah Giacomantonio. Sarah will discuss the background behind the development of the SafeR Spaces resources\, and how using these resources as a ‘How-To’ to foster a SafeR Space within your recreational cycling club could lead to a more inclusive environment. \nThe purpose of using the term SafeR Spaces is to acknowledge the fact that safe spaces cannot be guaranteed\, and clubs should not advertise themselves as such. Stating your club IS a safe space instead of continuously working towards it being a SafeR Space would inaccurately assume that you can predict and understand members behaviors and lived experiences. Making space to address privilege and identity is hard and often uncomfortable\, and it should be every club’s desire to support a SafeR Space to allow this ongoing process to exist. \nCome and learn how you can use the resources to better create such a space at your club\, thus creating a more welcoming environment for all members. \nThis webinar is for OC affiliated clubs and members only. \n  \nRegistration
