DESCRIPTION:The Sault Cycling Club (SCC) in collaboration with Tourism Sault Ste. Marie is excited to welcome athletes from across the province to their trail network.  With over 55km of newly constructed Mountain Bike trail\, Sault Ste. Marie has quickly become a must-visit destination for the sport with options from easy to expert\, cross country\, enduro\, winter fat bike\, and trail riding. About 10 minutes from the downtown core\, you’ll find that Kinsmen Park / Hiawatha Highlands boasts some of the best trails in Ontario – technical\, steep climbs through the rocky Canadian Shield\, fast\, modern flow trails\, and adrenaline – creating jumps lines. \nIn addition to the trail network\, you’ll find that the community has truly embraced the sport with multiple shops\, local breweries\, riding groups\, and bike tour operators supporting the industry. The trail network is varied and perfect for riders wanting to train technical skills while enjoying amazing vistas\, and all within close proximity to the city. We hope that the trails and city exceed all expectations. \nDon’t miss out on a full weekend of racing in the beautiful SSM between the 45k XC Marathon Saturday morning\, Short Track Saturday afternoon\, and full day of OCup racing Sunday. SUMMARY:Gravel - Blue Mountains UCI Gravel Fondo - Thornbury\, ON
DESCRIPTION:Set in beautiful Grey County at the southern end of Georgian Bay starting and finishing in the town of Thornbury\, Ontario\, the area provides the ideal geography for a world class gravel event\, with a broad variety of terrain under a variety of road surfaces leveraging the Niagara Escarpment and Beaver Valley for challenging climbs. The Blue Mountain Gravel Fondo will act as a qualifying event where the top 25% in each age group qualify for the UCI World Championship Gravel Event; Oct 8/9 Veneto\, Italy. \nThe Blue Mountains Gravel Fondo is a gravel event organized by Bruce Bird\, multiple UCI Gran Fondo World Champion in both time trial and road racing and organizer of the Blue Mountains Gran Fondo who was part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series from 2015-2019. . Bruce is collaborating for this event with the organizers of the spring Classic Paris Ancaster.
