DESCRIPTION:For its 40th edition\, Défi sportif AlterGo will be hosting Gary Longhi para-cycling Challenge sanctioned by UCI (Union cycliste internationale). This competition allows participants to accumulate points for their world ranking. DESCRIPTION:For over a century the roads of northern Europe have been home to the toughest bicycle races in the world. The most famous of these\, Paris to Roubaix\, takes place each spring over brutal cobblestone roads that have been preserved in their historic condition for over 100 years. Inspired by this classic race\, the Paris to Ancaster has taken place since 1994 over the roughest farm lanes\, trails and gravel roads we can find. The reason is that it is going very well. We had our first Start fill yesterday – P2A Classic Start 2 and now another one is filled too. \nP2A CLASSIC START3 IS NOW FILLED! Better register soon. \nThe registration trends have continued along at a nice steady pace. Please keep in mind that space is limited in some of the distances and some of the starts. We have no idea how long spaces will be available. \nThe first ever Canadian Gravel Championships are also showing lots of interest. We have racers attending from all over Canada and a goodly number coming from the US. It should be an epic event. \nRaise money for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation\nYou already know that Paris to Ancaster is Canada’s Spring Cycling Classic\, but did you know this event is also coined a Ride for Research? That’s because for the past eight years\, the organizers of Paris to Ancaster have partnered with St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation and invited race participants to ride and raise funds to support groundbreaking research at St. Joe’s. \nWe know\, the words groundbreaking research sound great\, but what do they really mean? \n\nIt means that the largest national study EVER into the leading cause of blindness for Canadians is underway at St. Joe’s.\nIt means that 54 new clinical trials are happening at the Hospital\nIt means that St. Joe’s is changing the way that urologic surgeries are performed with robotics\nIt means that every day\, more than 700 researchers and learners are striving to understand illness and disease so that we can discover new treatments and possibly even new cures for the diseases that affect so many.\n\nThe research being done at St. Joe’s changes lives. That’s why we’re inviting you to consider raising funds for St. Joe’s during your ride\, or simply choose to make a gift at the time of registration. Either way\, you’ll be helping the Hospital that helped so many of us over the past few years as we struggled with the impact and severity of the COVID-19 pandemic. SUMMARY:Coaching - Basic Cycling Skills - Gatineau\, QB
DESCRIPTION:Basic Cycling Skills provides an opportunity for “on-bike” practice in skill teaching and analysis\, coaching\, and provided lesson plans. The program is simple\, based on several pre-designed lesson plans\, and adaptable to participants’ varying skill and ability levels. The program’s focus is on having participants develop skills that are basic to MTB\, BMX\, and Road\, in a controlled\, off-road\, off-trail setting such as a sports field or parking lot. \nThe Basic Cycling Skills course is cross-listed with the Intro To Competition NCCP coaching stream. \n\nOC Refund Policy:\n\nIf the course is cancelled by Ontario Cycling a 100% refund including CCN fees will be issued.\nIf a participant withdraws from the course more than 14 days before\, they are eligible for a full refund minus CCN fees.\nIf withdrawing between 7 and 14 days before a course\, they are eligible for a 50% refund minus CCN fees.\nThere will be no refunds if participants need to withdraw within 7 days of the course taking place.\n\n\n \n\n\nRegistration
