2021/2022 Youth Track Development Series #3
February 12

YOUTH TRACK DEVELOPMENT SERIES
The Youth Track Development Series has been designed to optimize the development of our young athletes through a format that removes the emphasis on winning and instead focuses on skill development. After another successful season of ability-based racing in 2019/2020, riders will continue to select their category based on their ability and comfort level. Coaches, athletes and/or parents are asked to register riders in the group of best fit based on the recommendation chart provided on page 5 of the tech guide. The event Technical Delegate and Provincial Coach will identify any discrepancies that could indicate a needed category change during registration and upon completion of the first bunch race event.
The ability categories are aligned with Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Principles by allowing athletes at different levels of physical maturity, and/or time in the sport, to participate in meaningful mixed gender competition.
As directed by Halton Region Public Health, effective Nov. 26, 2021, all persons 12 years of age and older will be required to show proof of vaccination or a valid medical exemption prior to entering a Town of Milton facility or community centre for organized sport or recreation activities. This requirement also applies to participants, coaches, instructors, caregivers, volunteers, and game officials.
