2021 Cyclo-Cross Calendar

The Ontario Cycling Association is pleased to announce the series of events that will make up the 2021 Cyclo-Cross Calendar. For the 2021 season, the Calendar currently features 12 events including 1 National, 1 Provincial Championship, 5 Ontario Cups,  and 4 Weekly Series races.

For the 2021 Cyclo-Cross Season, similar to Road and MTB, the OCA will be allowing 2021 issued Citizen Permits or UCI licenses for riders to be eligible to participate in 2021 CX Provincials, OCup Series events,  and any of the 4 weekly series.

Please note: in order to race in the nationally sanctioned event, you will be required to hold a 2021 UCI License to be eligible for a title. There will be no day of registration at any events as all registration will be completed online beforehand. Each event within the OCup Series will have registration closing the Wednesday before the event at 11:59pm.

 Youth Ability System

Athletes 8 to 16 years of age can now self-seed based on their 2019 Cyclo-Cross results into 3 ability categories for boys (A, B, and C) and 2 ability categories for girls (A and B). This category structure will be utilized at all Regional and OCup events. A suggested seeding chart for U13, U15, and U17 athletes can be viewed within the 2021 Cyclo-Cross Guidelines Document: available here.

The goal of the youth ability system is to build skill level, preparing them for life-long enjoyment within the sport. Parents are reminded that the focus of the youth ability system is on the development of their child, and that performance at races are not a reliable indicator of future international success, however it is a key stepping stone in building continued participation in the sport. Age-based categories will return at the Provincial Championship where a U13, U15, and U17 champion will be recognized.

Non-Member Participation

Want to try Cyclo-Cross?  At the Organizer’s discretion, and upon approval from the OCA, Non-Member permits may be available for select Citizen, Regional and OCup races via online pre-registration.
