2019 CX Event Calendar Announcement
With summer winding down and fall just around the corner, the 2019 Cyclo-Cross season is set to start with a variety of exciting events! This year’s calendar consists of 5 weekly series, 4 regional events, 5 Ontario Cup races, and the Provincial Championship. The CX Canadian Championships and Pan Am Championships will follow in November.

Please note all events are considered tentative until the event permitting and sanctioning process is completed. Event details will be updated on the OCA events calendar as this process is completed by each organizer for the below events.
Provincial Championship
Provincial Championship events are open to citizen permits (where applicable) and UCI license holders. Riders must have a cyclo-cross code on their license and race in the age based category as indicated by the National category code on their license. For a breakdown of category licenses please refer to the Provincial Championship licensing chart. Provincial Champions will be recognized within each category, and receive a provincial medal and jersey based on the N+1 policy.
Toronto CX
Returning this year as the Provincial Championship, TOCX has a 20+ year history, that continues to impress and excite local and international CX athletes. Heading back to the valley side of the park, the course will provide a technical yet fun challenge for all.

Ontario Cup events are open to citizen permit and UCI license holders, with the top level categories reserved for UCI license holders only. For a breakdown on category licenses please refer to the Ontario Cup CX Licensing Requirements.
Ontario Cup series winners will be decided by season ending Ontario Cup series point totals by a simple tally of all points earned at Ontario Cup events. Series winners will be recognized following the last event of the series.

Ontario Cup #1 – We Need More Cowbell
The 12th edition, powered by St. Catharines Cycling Club, We Need More Cowbell is back, launching the 2019 cyclocross season! Featuring a similar course as years prior, We Need More Cowbell is a staple event on the calendar for participants to get back on their bikes to have some fun.

Ontario Cup #2 – Belleville Riverside Rumble
With several elevation changes, gravel paths, wooded areas, grassy fields, and climbs, the Belleville Riverside Rumble is back! This event has great views of the Moira River adjacent to the race route and has nearby playground facilities for families to enjoy.

Ontario Cup #3 – Baseball Cross
Join us for the 13th annual Baseball Cross at the Barrie Sports Complex. Expect another fast course with the classic sandpit, staircase, and some new changes to keep things interesting! The 3km course is developed by professional cyclist and cyclocross advocate, David Frattini.
Baseball Cross is exceptionally spectator friendly and a challenge for every rider!

Ontario Cup #4 – Hardwood Cross
This year’s course is a mix of grass, sand, hard-pack dirt, and double track ski trails. There is 37 meters of climb per lap with one flat barrier and one run up per lap. There are two flyovers and a sand pit. The course combines all of the elements of a great cyclocross course including a couple of off camber sections plenty of turns as well as faster sections. It will definitely test the skills of all level riders.

Ontario Cup #5 – Dam Cross
Dam Cross is back as Ontario Cup #5 this year! Again, the race will be held at the ‘infamous’ Pittock Dam in Woodstock. Located only one hour west of Toronto, Dam Cross will challenge racers with a technical course across grass, gravel, pavement, and sand.

Regional Events
Regional events run with the same schedule as Ontario Cup events and are open to citizen permit and UCI license holders. Event organizers now have the option to sell non-member permits (pre-registration only) as a way to include new riders or those who want to try out a race or support a local event.
Batty Cross
This Halloween themed cyclocross race will be held on the Batty Family Farm where Emily grew up and learned to ride! The course will feature a corn maze, a trick or treat zone, haunted forest, use of the natural terrain and hills on the farm and many other fun design elements that will excite races and challenge their abilities.

mad Cross
Join us for the 5th annual cyclocross race weekend featuring mad ‘Cross on Saturday and Dam Cross on Sunday. There will be sand, Ontario’s biggest flyover, and lots of fun with the opportunity to win draw prizes, beer, and cash!
If you’re new to cyclo-cross or if you’ve been wanting to see what this side of cycling is all about, this is the race for you! All bikes and all ability levels welcome!

KWCX
The Waterloo Cycling Club presents the 2nd annual KWCX, bringing cyclocross racing to the region of Waterloo! The race will be held at Bingemans, a family oriented facility featuring an indoor kids play area and arcade. The course will contain a sand pit, two short but tough gravel climbs, off-camber descents and a mixture of surfaces through the campgrounds.

Weekly Series
This year’s weekly series will provide CX enthusiasts with numerous weeks of training and racing across Ontario. Weekly series are run with various ability categories, and open to UCI license holders and citizen permit holders. Event organizers have the option to sell non-member permits (pre-registration only) as a way to include new riders. Sign up for a series early to try out a race, ride with friends, or support a local series.
Durham Shredders Cyclo-Cross Series
The Durham Shredders cyclo-cross series is set to begin September 18th, ending on November 6th. This year’s series will feature a course that is fast, flowing, and littered with obstacles, allowing you to build your skills and fitness. As the sun will be setting earlier each week, the last two nights of the series will require you to dust off your riding lights….which just adds to the excitement! Draw prizes will also be offered each week.
Come out and be part of the most fun you will have on a CX bike! Sit around the campfire, enjoy free food, and share stories and laughs with everyone.

Nordic Cats Cross Series
This is a no-frills weekly racing and training series from a group of friends meeting to train for cyclo-cross. Focus is fun, getting new people introduced to the sport, and getting in a good race intensity workout.
Join the Nordic Cats Cross Club on Wednesday nights from August 21 – October 30th for a no-frills weekly racing and training series. The focus of the series is on. All bikes welcome
Races occur rain or shine. If you’re new to cycling and want to give cyclo-cross a try, the Nordic Cats Cross club is the perfect venue for introducing you into the fun (and sometimes wacky) world of cyclo-cross. If you’re an experienced racer looking to test your limits against some of the Ontario’s fastest riders, this is the series for you!

Hardwood Wednesday Night Series
Join Hardwood Ski & Bike for a 7-week cyclo-cross series starting September 11th. The course is designed for all ages and abilities from new to experienced riders! Racers will do multiple laps on an open, off-road course and can ride either mountain bikes or cyclocross bikes. This is a fast fun course, with technical cyclocross challenges and dismounts.
Races will start at 6pm and be finished before dark. No bike lights needed.

Eastern Ontario Cyclo-Cross Series
This is the 31st year of the Ottawa Bicycle Club / Eastern Ontario Cyclocross series! Since the first year, the goal has been to provide good races on a diversity of safe courses that enable riders of all abilities to participate in the sport of cyclocross. The series is open to anyone with an interest in cyclocross regardless of ability. The series is both friendly and competitive!

Midweek Cyclo-Cross Tuesday Night Series
Located under the ski lights at Centennial Park (Toronto), the Midweek CX Tuesday Night Series is a weekly training series for all levels of cyclocross racers with a new course setup each week. Expert coaches provide instruction in the beginning of the evening, and every clinic concludes with an A/B/C/kids race (ages 9 and up). Starts September 3.
